After you have had a successful Meet & Greet with your sitter, please hit the "Book now" button in the enquiry in order to make a payment.
This is how the payment process works in full detail.
- When you send a booking request to a pet sitter, the amount for the booking is authorised and reserved on your credit card. At this time, there’s no payment, just an authorisation for the amount.
- The sitter has 24 hours to accept or decline the request.
- Once the booking is confirmed by the sitter, the amount is withdrawn from your payment card. At this time, there’s a payment.
- Should the sitter decline the booking request or do not reply in time, the authorisation will be released and you won’t be charged.
This means that the amount for the booking is taken out of your account when you send a booking request. It is held securely until the end of the booking, which is when we pay out the sitter. We keep a contribution of 19%, which we use for the maintenance and development of the site/app, insurance, customer support as well as our team.
Some sitters will require you to book right after a successful Meet & Greet in order to hold your spot in their planning. Others won't ask you to book until closer to the beginning of the booking.
Please don't make a direct booking unless you have had a successful meet and greet with your sitter, and your sitter has agreed to carry out the booking, to avoid waiting for your funds to be released on your account.
